Portugal's southern Algarve region is a top destination for travelers seeking sun, beautiful beaches, quaint, picturesque villages, warm waters and a friendly Mediterranean atmosphere.

Spring (March to May)

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Algarve. The rains seem to be increasing, flowers are beginning to bloom and the area has become a haven of peace.

Summer (June to August)

Summer is the most famous season in the Algarve, gathering visitors from all over the world. The weather is warm and pleasant, and the sea temperature is ideal for swimming.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn is a wonderful time to explore the Algarve. The weather is still gorgeous, the beaches are less crowded, and the sea is warm able to swim in.

Winter (December to February)

The Algarve's low season is winter. Temperatures are colder but still moderate in comparison to other European sites. Quiet walks on peaceful beaches are ideal.

Without the masses of tourists, you can enjoy the quiet of the land and learn about the local culture. In the winter, however, many shops and restaurants may be closed.
