Last Date To Exchange ₹ 2,000 Notes

Starting from October 8, banks will no longer accept ₹ 2,000 notes for exchange.

From October 8 onwards, individuals still have the opportunity to exchange ₹ 2,000 notes at 19 offices of the RBI.

In a statement released today, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that the deadline for exchanging ₹ 2,000 notes at banks has been extended until October 7.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that the ₹ 2,000 note will continue to be accepted as legal tender beyond the exchange deadline.

From October 8 onwards, banks will no longer accept ₹ 2,000 notes for exchange.

Nevertheless, individuals are still able to exchange ₹ 2,000 notes at 19 designated RBI offices or via India Post.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reported that it has received a total of ₹ 3.42 lakh crore worth of ₹ 2,000 notes, out of the ₹ 3.56 lakh crore currently in circulation as of May 19th.

As of September 29, only ₹ 0.14 lakh crore worth of ₹ 2,000 notes remain in circulation, indicating a significant reduction in their availability.
