Class 6 Social Science Chapter 3, “Landforms and Life,” explains how different landforms influence the way people live. The Earth’s surface is composed of various natural features, such as mountains, plateaus, and plains. These landforms affect climate, occupation, food habits, clothing, and lifestyle. This chapter teaches that nature and human life are closely connected. Mountains, plateaus, and plains each play an important role in shaping human civilization and development.

My town/village/city is located in the plains.
The plains are flat lands which are very fertile. I see agricultural fields, rivers, roads and houses around me. The land is suitable for farming and many crops such as wheat and rice are grown here. There are also markets, schools and transport facilities because plains are densely populated areas.
On the trip from Chhota Nagpur to Prayagraj and Almora, we came across three landforms:
| Mount Everest | climbing |
| Mount Kilimanjaro | Africa |
| rafting | river |
| roof of the world | plateau |
| camels | desert |
| rice fields | Gangetic plains |
| waterway | Ganga |
| tributary | Yamuna |
