Question 3. In your view, what type of person should be a Gram Panchayat member?

Answer:
A Gram Panchayat member should be honest, responsible and dedicated to public service. He or she should listen to the problems of villagers and work for their welfare. The member should respect everyone, including women and disadvantaged sections of society. Good leadership qualities, cooperation and a sense of duty are important so that development work can be done properly.

Question 4. Suppose you study in a village school located next to a highway and students find it difficult to cross the road. What are the options to solve this issue? Which institutions can help? What can students do?

Answer:
Several steps can be taken to solve this problem. Speed breakers, zebra crossings and warning signboards can be installed near the school. A footbridge or traffic police support during school hours can also help.

The Gram Panchayat can raise the issue in the Gram Sabha. The Panchayat Samiti can forward the request to higher authorities, and the Zila Parishad can help in arranging funds and coordination with the highway authorities.

Students can inform teachers, write applications to the Panchayat and discuss the issue in the Gram Sabha. By working together, the problem can be solved safely and effectively.
